Nationwide Egg Donor Matching in the US

The Perfect Gene supports independent egg donor matching across all 50 states within the United States. Nationwide coordination does not mean every donor can work with every clinic, that travel is unnecessary, or that one state's agreements answer every legal question.

Separate where everyone lives from where care occurs

A nationwide arrangement may involve intended parents in one state, a donor in another, and a treating clinic in a third. Begin by identifying each role and the actual medical destination. An address on a profile does not establish where screening, monitoring, retrieval, or laboratory work will occur.

Ask the treating clinic which evaluations can happen through outside providers and which require attendance at its own facilities. Confirm how records will be transferred and who reviews them. A remote consultation can simplify an early discussion, but it does not establish that later medical care can be completed remotely.

This service scope is limited to the United States. Do not interpret nationwide as an offer of cross-border coordination or overseas treatment. If a proposed plan involves a location outside that scope, it should not be treated as a supported arrangement based on the wording of this page. Clarify the actual US-based plan before proceeding.

Use a route-specific handoff and travel plan

For a planned donor retrieval, ask who coordinates the donor's evaluation, medical calendar, travel approval, and administrative updates. Keep procedure dates provisional until the clinic confirms them. Identify which reservations can be changed and how expenses are approved if the calendar moves.

For frozen eggs, identify the actual inventory holder and receiving laboratory. Ask about record review, release authorization, transport responsibilities, and acceptance conditions before arranging shipment. The Perfect Gene is not an egg bank and does not hold frozen inventory. A matching conversation is not a commitment by either the inventory holder or the laboratory.

Keep the intended parents' own attendance requirements separate from donor travel or shipment logistics. Ask whether work leave, caregiving, or a support person will affect the plan. A national search may broaden the options considered, but it can also add handoffs that need explicit ownership rather than assumptions that another organization is handling everything.

Review state-specific questions with qualified advisers

Your attorney should determine which jurisdictions and facts matter to donor agreements, consent, contact terms, representation, and any parentage questions. Do not select a contract based only on the brokerage's location or assume a document used for another family applies unchanged to yours.

Medical requirements may also vary with the responsible provider and applicable rules. ASRM guidance offers a professional framework, not a promise that every clinic uses identical acceptance procedures. Ask the actual clinic to confirm requirements and explain additional review instead of expecting the brokerage to override them.

Compare budgets using the same categories across proposals: matching services, compensation or procurement, clinic care, legal advice, travel, and continuing costs as applicable. Benefits should be verified with the actual plan, especially when providers are in different states. Nationwide availability of a service does not establish network participation, reimbursement, a fixed completion date, or a guaranteed treatment result.

    Prepare for a useful consultation

Bring a short list of general questions, the city and state of your chosen fertility clinic if you have one, and an approximate planning horizon. Separate requirements that your clinic has confirmed from preferences you would like to discuss. If you are comparing several arrangements, keep a separate note for each rather than assuming that a fact about one donor or frozen allocation applies to another.

Ask who owns the next action, what information is still missing, and when the plan will be reviewed again. Request a written explanation of services and exclusions before making a financial commitment. A useful next step may be a clinic review, an attorney conversation, or more time to consider preferences; it does not have to be an immediate reservation.

Use our consultation request for general contact and planning information only. Do not paste medical histories, genetic findings, identification documents, or donor application answers into that form or ordinary email. Ask your clinic or the responsible professional for an approved private method when sensitive records are needed.

The Perfect Gene provides matching support only. This guide is general education, not medical, legal, or financial advice. Your fertility clinic decides clinical steps; your reproductive attorney advises on legal steps. No donor selection or treatment guarantees pregnancy or a particular child’s traits.

    Common questions

    Does nationwide include international service?

No. The Perfect Gene's service scope is within the United States. This page does not offer cross-border matching, overseas treatment coordination, or international donor arrangements.

Can I keep my chosen US clinic?

Discuss it early and ask that clinic about acceptance of the proposed donor or eggs. Nationwide coordination does not guarantee that every clinic will approve every arrangement.

Does a national search eliminate waiting?

No. Availability, preferences, professional review, agreements, and scheduling still affect progress. A broader search is not a promise of a match or treatment on a fixed date.

Which state's agreement should I use?

Ask independent reproductive counsel to assess the participants, locations, and circumstances. A general nationwide guide cannot choose the governing documents or determine legal rights for your arrangement.
